Updates

21st August. A report, by Peter Saundby, of a meeting with the CAA on 15th August has been added to the main response page, under the heading 'Other Background Information.'

18th August. Following yesterday evening's meeting with the CAA at Lasham, the BGA sample RIA response has been updated. The latest version is referenced from the main Transponder Response page.

10th August. Link added to ASTRAEA web site. This outlines the direction that government and business is seeking to move in with regards to UAVs.This is clearly one of the drivers behind the current proposals.

11th August. Comments from Pete Stratten, BGA Chief Executive added. These are in response to feedback from pilots to the original request for responses to the RIA.

News

19th August. We have received reports that some CAA staff have informed pilots that individual responses are not required as the CAA is well aware of the views of air sports bodies. These staff have been corrected by their management. Individual responses ARE relevant and encouraged by the CAA. All narratives will be included in the CAA report to the DfT so please respond - YOUR RESPONSE IS VITAL.

11th August. We have heard from the CAA that they will ONLY accept responses using the official response document (printed or online). Comments must only be written in the document or in the online forms. If you are unable to complete the form online or download the document to a PC, the CAA will post paper copies of the document upon request. Clubs may wish to bulk order copies of the response document.

11th August. People completing the on-line version of the response questionnaire should note that the process gives you no opportunity to save or print your response. If you wish to keep a copy of your response, you should either prepare a draft prior to completing the on-line forms. Alternatively, you may prefer to complete the MS Word document and Email this to the CAA, keeping the .doc file for your records.
