Bronze for Andy

Two time world champion, Andy Davis, has won the bronze medal in the 18m class at the European Championships which ended yesterday at Ocseny in Hungary. After 10 days of racing, Andy was just pipped for the silver medal by the Czech Republic’s Roman Mracek who turned in a super-fast performance to win the final race of the series. Gold was taken by World No 1 Sebastian Kawa of Poland.

Andy’s team mate in the 18m class, Russell Cheetham, finished 10th overall while in  the Open Class, three time champion Pete Harvey was eighth and first-time internationalist Iain Evans a highly creditable 15th.

Attention now shifts to Rieti in Italy where the competition for the European Championships in the Club, Standard and 15m classes begins on August 2nd.
