ROLE OF THE REGIONAL SAFETY OFFICER
Advise club chairmen, CFI’s and safety officers on matters of safety in the context of gliding and flying operations.
Facilitate the implementation at club level of agreed BGA processes for the identification and management of hazards.
Contribute to the development of a safety culture at the clubs in the region.
Carry out regular reviews of safety at the clubs in the region. Report the findings and any recommendations to the club chairman, CFI, and safety officer, to the chairman of the BGA safety committee, and to the BGA chief executive.
Assist in the development of club safety officers in the region.
