British Gliding Association Aircraft Modification Recommended Number: BGA 040/06/2004 Date: 29 June 2004 Issue: 1 Subject: Seat back location and adjustment Applicability: Schempp-Hirth Ventus 2c and 2cT gliders with keyhole slot seat back location not fitted with retention spring clips. Note: Not applicable to later gliders with spring loaded bolt type of seat adjuster. (Modification Bulletin 825-33 fitted to Ventus 2cT N/No 58 on) Accomplishment: Optional. Strongly recommended by BGA. Reason: To help prevent unlatching of pilots seat back lower adjuster in unusual seating positions. Instructions: Install spring retention clips to the underside of the seat pan at all keyhole slot positions in accordance with Schempp-Hirth drawing S08 RB 846 “Rückenlehnenvestellung unten (adjustable lower part of seat back)”. Removal of the seat pan is required to gain access to the underside. Carry out inspection BGA 041/06/2004 on completion and at each C of A inspection.
