Cracked welds in rudder parallelogram support due to over travel of pedals

from over long rudder cables. Cables should be adjusted to ensure clearance

on upper support.

Flexible Fuel Hoses

Problem reported on a DG 500 MB but equally applicable to all 2 stroke motor

gliders.

Steel braided flexible fuel hoses with braid sleeve failed due to engine vibration

and interaction of a cable tie. Check for failed braid and always follow

manufacturers recommended hose replacement guidelines. Use correct “P”

clips wherever possible or cushion hose at cable ties especially where ties are

looped through one another.
