THE BGA 1000K TROPHY NAME OF TROPHY: "British Gliding Association 1000K Trophy" TERMS OF AWARD: Awarded to the pilot or flight crew of the sailplane making the fastest flight (defined as the fastest average speed over the distance claimed) of the calendar year which exceeds 1000 Km and which takes off from a UK site or airfield. FLIGHT COURSE: Any type of flight course which complies with the FAI Sporting Code Section 3 is acceptable including free distance with up to 3 turn points. LANDING POINT: Over flight of and landing in Non-UK countries is permitted. RULES OF COMPLIANCE: The flight must comply with FAI Rules for Gliding Records in such matters as flight recording, loss of height, motor use etc. SAILPLANE TYPES: Any type of sailplane, multi seater, self sustainer or self launching is eligible. PILOT ELIGIBILITY Only pilots of British nationality, or principally resident within the UK and subject to British income tax may receive this trophy. STANDARD OF EVIDENCE:Evidence requirements are as for a record claim using the forms within the Sporting Code section 3
