Aerobatic Clubs

Whether you want to improve your flying skills, increase your confidence or just for the sheer thrill of it, aerobatics can offer even the most experienced pilots a fresh new challenge. At the very least, its something else to do on those unsoarable days.

Many clubs have instructors who can show you how to fly a loop or a wingover, but there's so much more to aerobatics than pointing the nose skywards and pulling back on the stick. More complex figures are harder to fly but also much more fun; flying a sequence of figures accurately is as challenging as flying cross country.

The best way to learn is to fly with an instructor who understands the basic principles of aerobatics. He or she will be able to teach you to fly a wide variety of figures, as well as aerobatic judging principles and Aresti notation. Most importantly, your instructor will teach you how to fly the figures safely.

The clubs listed below can offer training to at least Sports level:

Black Mountains
Booker
Bristol & Gloucestershire
Buckminster
RAFGSA Chilterns
Lasham
London

Portsmouth
Southdown

More information can be found on the British Aerobatic Association website.
