Club Management Documents Contained in this section are a variety of documents pertaining to club management. All files are in pdf format. Aerodrome Safeguarding This set of documents provides an outline of the procedure which a club should go through in order to obtain Informal Safeguarding for the airfield and to provide some planning protection against the building of nearby obstructions or the development of activities which would threaten safe operations from the airfield. Briefing Document The BGA Planning and Environment Fund is a fund established and funded by the BGA (through member clubs’ affiliation fees) to assist clubs which are at risk in the context of planning, environmental or similar developments and may need financial help to fight legal challenges or to support a complex planning application or appeal. You can read about the fund here. This document describes the BGA policy in this very important area and identifies how all BGA clubs should individually develop and implement a Child Protection Policy. Further advice for club officials can be obtained from the BGA's Child Protection Leader at karon@gliding.co.uk. Sample club policies are available as follows: There are a number of other sample policies and guidance notes in the policies pack, including the related membership forms and a data protection policy, together with numerous documents that may be useful for organising junior gliding and communicating with parents and carers. Many clubs are either not aware of these changes or do not believe that they are relevant to them. For most sports clubs there will be implications and for many they will be very significant, requiring plans to be put in place to ensure adequate access is provided for disabled users and members in the future Health & Safety Guidance Notes (UK Sport document) This document discusses the legal responsibilities of ... clubs & societies for the safety of participants and all other people that may be affected by their activities.
